Lovejoy Pavilion

Lovejoy Pavilion

Boston, MA

JCA was the design architect for the Lovejoy Pavilion building, one of the newest additions to Boston’s historic waterfront district. The building, which houses the Converse retail store below and the Rubber Tracks recording studio above, provides an important civic connector between the upper North Washington Street pedestrian way and the wharf level below, featuring 24-hour public stair and elevator access between the two levels. The cleanly detailed modern structure provides a fitting foil to the historic 1908 masonry Lovejoy Building to which it connects. JCA worked closely with developer Related/Beal to meet the stringent city requirements for waterfront development.
